Spain. Felipe III. 8 Maravedís 1607 Segovia (No reserve price)

Felipe III (1598-1621). 8 maravedís, Segovia (Ingenio), 1607 DESCRIPTION 8 copper maravedís of Felipe III, minted by machine at the Real Ingenio de la Moneda in Segovia in 1607. Obverse: PHILIPPVS · III · D · G («Philip III, by the grace of God»). Crowned shield of Castile; to the left, the aqueduct, mint mark of Segovia; to the right, the value VIII. Reverse: HISPANIARVM REX («King of the Spains»). Crowned León shield; to the right, the date 1607. The Real Ingenio de Segovia, founded by Philip II with machinery brought from Tyrol, was then the only Spanish mint that struck coins by machine, hence the regularity and sharpness of its pieces compared to those hammered at the other mints. Beautiful dark patina with reflections. References: KM 16; Cal. (AC) __. It is delivered with certificate of authenticity and invoice.
