An interesting historical collection consisting of 50 coins and 20 Spanish banknotes, issued during the final years of the Second Republic and the period of the Spanish Civil War. Contents of the lot: Coins: 50 coins of 1 peseta from 1937, popularly known as the grapes pesetas, due to the grape bunch depicted on one of their faces. Original circulating specimens, with varying degrees of preservation and patinas typical of their age. Banknotes: 20 original banknotes from the republican period. Denominations of 50 céntimos, 1, 2, 5 and 10 pesetas. Emissions corresponding to the years 1935, 1937 and 1938. Circulated condition, with signs of use, creases and small stains typical of their age. Historical and numismatic interest: The set brings together different denominations of the Spanish monetary system during one of the most significant periods in Spain’s contemporary history. The combination of metal coins and paper money allows appreciating the diversity of republican emissions, especially during the years of the Civil War. Condition: All pieces are presented in the condition shown in the photographs. They have not been cleaned or restored by the seller. The lot is sold as a complete set of 70 pieces, not separated.
