“Tradition is not the worship of ashes, but the passing on of the flame.” This quote is attributed to the symphonist Gustav Mahler (1860–1911). This statement applies particularly well to this modern ring, as its romantic symbolism follows a centuries-old tradition. The ring was created on our commission and is a beautiful example of the enduring legacy of a classic design that, at the same time, does not deny its era of origin. The understated, modern ring band, crafted from high-karat yellow gold, features three sparkling brilliant-cut diamonds with a total weight of 0.86 carats, with a larger center stone (0.44 ct) flanked by two smaller brilliant-cut diamonds. All the stones shine brilliantly bright and white (H) and are vintage diamonds from the 1960s. The outer stones contain small, natural inclusions that are not visible without a magnifying glass. The design concept for the ring draws on the tradition of trilogy rings, which are rich in symbolism: the number of gemstones in these pieces is meant to represent the shared past, present, and future. Diamonds, which legend holds to be indestructible and thus eternally enduring, serve as a promise of eternity. Thanks to its shape and symbolic meaning, our ring is the perfect engagement ring or gift of love.
