A very fine vintage collection of *Le Journal Spirou*, corresponding to issue No. 68 of the famous series of bound albums published by Dupuis. This volume brings together issues No. 1060 through 1069, published in 1958, at the heart of the most sought-after period of the Marcinelle School. It features the great names of the Dupuis publishing house—Franquin, Morris, Peyo, Will, and Roba—during an iconic period for fans of the early collections. The cover, which is particularly spectacular, depicts Spirou, Fantasio, and the Marsupilami in a large-scale mountain scene, with the caption: “Watch out, Spirou! We’re throwing ourselves into the lion’s den!” This illustration by Franquin—highly dynamic and instantly recognizable—is among the most visually striking covers in the series.
