Descriptio Carved and polychromed wood. Measures 140 cm in height. Monumental statue depicting a standing saint, enveloped in flowing robes whose deeply carved folds emphasize the figure’s verticality. Her head is slightly inclined, and her expression is imbued with sweetness and contemplation. The arms, now missing, originally suggest a devotional gesture or the holding of iconographic attributes. The old polychromy, partially worn, reveals the wood beneath and reinforces the expressive intensity of the whole. This work belongs to the tradition of 17th-century European religious sculpture, where restrained naturalism, dynamic drapery, and measured emotion sought to foster piety and spiritual identification in the faithful. Due to its age and history of use, this lot may show signs of wear and previous interventions. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, no specialized technical testing has been performed. The absence of any mention of restorations does not guarantee that none exist. You may request additional information before placing a bid. This does not affect the buyer’s statutory rights. Lot in international warehouse (within the EU). Intra-EU shipment: no import duties apply within the EU. Export permit from the country of origin may be required.
