Lot consisting of 30 boxes of nibs from the historic company Heintze&Blanckerts, as read on the box inscription “Stahlfederfabrik-Berlin.” Founded in Berlin in the mid-nineteenth century, over the course of the twentieth century (in particular after World War II) production was drastically reorganized and then relocated due to the destruction of the Berlin factories, leading to graphics and logos that are decidedly more modern or with geographic references different from the classic ones at the beginning of the century. The combination of Gothic-style typography (characteristic of the German tradition of the era) and the geometric and floral ornamental details on the sides reflect strongly the influence of Art Nouveau / Jugendstil, very popular at the turn of the 19th to the 20th century (roughly 1890–1910). Two boxes show a slight separation at the joints, to be considered a sign of conservation and normal wear. Prospective buyers are invited to closely view the photographs and carefully assess the object’s condition before purchase, in order to avoid subsequent disputes or complaints.
