Title: Roman Gladiator Statue “Retiarius” – Laminated 925 Silver (35 g) – Marble base – Vintage 1950s/70s ⸻ Description: Decorative statue of great impact depicting a Roman gladiator of the “retiarius” type, recognizable by the presence of the trident and net, produced roughly between the 1950s and 1970s. A particularly dramatic specimen, characterized by a striking presence thanks to the combination of the 925 silver laminated finish and the solid marble base, elements that confer elegance and aesthetic value to the whole. There are stamps “925” and “gr. 35”, indicating the silver content and the applied weight (about 35 grams), attributable to European production in the second half of the 20th century. A typical item of post-war vintage decorative production, today increasingly appreciated for: * timeless classic Roman subject * strong visual impact * quality of the silver finish - Specimens of this type, in good condition and complete with the original base, are increasingly difficult to find on the market. - Ideal both for collectors and as a distinctive piece of furniture. ⸻ Characteristics: * Subject: Roman gladiator “retiarius” (net and trident) * Period: circa 1950s–1970s * Material: Laminated 925 silver (stamped “925” and “gr. 35”) * Base: Marble * Overall height: about 27 cm * Base dimensions: about 10 x 10 cm * Total weight: about 1880 g ⸻ Conditions: Good overall condition, with normal signs of time and use.
