Statue, " THE THINKING FACE " - 29 cm - Cast iron

This object is a modern, abstract cast-iron sculpture of a resting face, widely used as artistic garden decoration or industrial home accessory. Theme: The artwork presents a mysterious, fragmented face that rests in contemplation on a hand. In the art world this specific sculpture is often known under names such as "The Listener" (The Listener), "Listening" or variants of "The Thinker". Hearing, Seeing and Silent: This model is very regularly part of an iconic three-piece set based on the well-known Japanese motif. This specific sculpture (with the hand to the ear) symbolises the action of listening, and is then combined with two other sculptures where the hands cover the eyes and the mouth respectively. Material & Finish: The statue is cast from solid cast iron. Exposure to the outdoors has given the metal a characteristic deep rust patina. This rust-brown oxide layer gives the sculpture a rustic, weathered appearance while protecting the underlying metal from further weathering. height 29 cm on 15 and 13 cm
