Old miniature demonstration steam engine, consisting of a horizontal brass boiler, a metal firebox, and a single-cylinder engine with a red flywheel. The system is mounted on a blue metal base and illustrates the operating principle of a steam engine: the boiler produces steam, conveyed to the cylinder through a tube to drive the piston and the flywheel. A fine technical and educational object, of interest to collectors of scale models, scientific toys, antique machines, and teaching equipment. The whole shows signs of use and a patina consistent with its age.
