Sterling City, Texas. $10 1929 Ty. 1. Fr. 1801-1. First NB. Charter #9813. PCGS Banknote Choice Fine 15. Chartered and organized in 1910, the First National Bank of Sterling City (Charter# 9813) is a surprisingly scarce prospect for collectors. Here the National Bank Note Census records a relatively small population of 14 non-institutional notes along with a number of recent auction appearances. Yet relative to our estimate, bidders are advised that this may very way be an opportunity fit to be contested and won with a strong bid. Recent auction appearances are unduly strong regardless of series or grade level suggesting that these notes are pursued with a degree of interest that does more than simply strain an already limited supply of notes. Estimate: $1,000 - $1,500. Provenance: From the Jack Copeland Currency Collection, Part IV. Click here for certification details from PCGS Banknote.
