Studio Delu. (1976) – Collection: The Organized Chaos – Gaston Lagaffe – Office Kart Shadow Frame 27 × 27 cm – Mixed media – Signed work With its collection The Organized Chaos, Studio Delu celebrates humor, improbable inventions and the bustling situations of comics and popular culture. This creation pays tribute to Gaston Lagaffe and to his “Office Kart,” in the humorous universe of André Franquin. Made from a real page from a Gaston Lagaffe album, this composition depicts Gaston’s inventions and misadventures in the corridors of the office. A roller skate, a lawn mower engine and a healthy dose of imagination: his mini-kart turns colleagues’ daily routines into a circuit as unpredictable as it is hilarious. The composition pairs an authentic page from the album with an official collection figurine representing Gaston on his office kart. The different elements are entirely hand-assembled in an elegant black Shadow Frame. The relief figurine extends the printed scene, creating a dialogue between the comic panels and the three-dimensional object. Each Studio Delu creation is made individually. The choice of the page, the figurine and their staging give each work its own character. On the border between comics, sculpture and contemporary art, this creation will appeal to Gaston Lagaffe fans, to lovers of André Franquin’s universe and to Comic Art collectors.
