Sublime Mint Green Jasper with Delicate Patterns and a...

atural Mint Green Jasper Polished Freeform from Madagascar — This lot features a freeform sculpture of jasper, sourced from Madagascar’s rich deposits. The specimen stands out for its impressive size and, above all, for a particularly rare and sought-after color: a delicate shade that ranges between mint green and aqua green. The work, which culminated in a fully mirror-polished surface, transforms this geological fragment into a work of art with remarkable sculptural presence. The piece has an organic, vertical shape, with an asymmetric and sinuous profile that enhances its momentum. The dimensions are substantial, with a height of 24 centimeters and a weight of nearly 3 kilograms, lending the object tangible material significance. The impeccable polish allows light to glide over its curves, creating bright reflections that highlight every minute detail of the surface and internal structure. Viewing it up close, one appreciates the compact, homogeneous nature typical of jasper, a microcrystalline variety of quartz. Color is the true protagonist of this specimen. Unlike the more common red or dark green jasper, this variant features a fresh, luminous color palette. On the surface one can discern ultra-fine veining and light marbling that are almost milky, testifying to the complex mineral deposition process that formed the rock. These patterns, barely perceptible, add visual depth and a sense of uniqueness, turning the surface into an abstract landscape to explore. Geologically, jasper is a sedimentary or volcanic rock composed primarily of chalcedony, whose coloration is determined by the presence of mineral impurities trapped during formation. Madagascar is a globally renowned location for the exceptional variety and quality of its ornamental minerals, including jaspers and agates with unique colorations. This specimen is a superb testimony to the island’s mineral wealth, a product of geological processes lasting millions of years. Thanks to its refined aesthetics, this piece sits halfway between a mineralogical collection specimen and a design object. Its elegant form and calming color make it a décor element of great impact, perfect for enriching a bookcase, a professional study, or a contemporary environment. It is a piece that engages with the surrounding space, capable of drawing attention and inviting contemplation, representing a perfect example of how nature, guided by the skilled hand of man, can transform into art.”} } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } .jsonMalformed to be corrected: I included extraneous braces due to miscount.
