G.V. de Croismare – Signed Art Nouveau / Art Deco Pendant Light – Mottled Glass & Bronze – France, c.1920 Elegant French G.V. de Croismare pendant light, circa 1920, dating from the transition between Art Nouveau and Art Deco. It features a large hand-blown mottled/marbled glass bowl in rich shades of orange, amber and yellow, signed “G.V. de Croismare.” The glass displays a superb cloudy and marbled pattern throughout the mass, offering beautiful color variations and a remarkable luminous effect when illuminated. The bowl is hung from an antique pierced bronze fitting, with three suspensions featuring stylised botanical motifs, completed by an elegant bélière cover (ceiling canopy). The Grande Verrerie de Croismare, located in Lorraine, forms part of the important glassmaking tradition of the Lunéville region, historically associated with the Muller brothers. Dimensions: bowl diameter 35 cm; bowl height 12 cm; total height approximately 58 cm. Good antique condition. Electrical system checked and fully functional. Ready for installation.
