SWEDEN. March Across the Belts Restrike Silver Medal, ND (1658). Karl X Gustav. NGC MS-64. Hild-25; Delzanno-37a; Bruun-17524. Diameter: 48 mm. Weight: 48 gms. By J. Breuer (b). Extremely rare. Very high relief on the obverse and mirrorlike surfaces with a hint of hairlines; the reverse as struck with subtle die striations and gray toning with flashes of multicolor. Although the reverse shows the Swedish army crossing directly from the island of Fyn (Funen) to Sjælland (Zealand) they did in fact cross the Great Belt from Langeland to Lolland. Ex: Royal Swedish Coin Cabinet Duplicates Sale (Stockholm - 1895) Lot # 625. To view supplemental information and all items from the L.E. Bruun Collection, click here.
