Swen Van der Sangen - 100% Silk 'Silky Cloud Bubblegum' –...

Silky Cloud Bubblegum Part of the Silkyway Series 100% Twill Silk / Resin In Silky Cloud Bubblegum, Dutch artist Swen van der Sangen channels pure light and optimism through a radiant interpretation of his Silkyway series. This 60 x 80 cm piece glows with a pink hue, evoking a sense of energy, joy, and renewal. Made from hand-cut strips of 100% twill silk, each soaked in resin, the surface forms a layered relief that plays delicately with light and shadow. The silk’s natural sheen interacts with the resin finish, giving the piece a soft luminosity that shifts throughout the day. The pink tone is bold yet uplifting and striking a perfect balance between vibrancy and serenity. It invites the viewer into a moment of stillness. Graduating from the Maastricht Academy of Fine Arts in 2014, Van der Sangen brings a decade of experience in luxury fashion design to his visual art. His meticulous approach to materials and form reflects a designer’s eye for detail and an artist’s instinct for emotional resonance. As a standout in the Silkyway series, Silky Cloud Bubblegum radiates positivity and calm. Each work is individually handcrafted, making every piece a one-of-a-kind embodiment of Van der Sangen’s vision.
