Scarce early Year 4 (1854) 3 Taels issued for the Imperial Army Ration Bureau (Liang Tai), as denoted by the 'Liang Tai' handstamp and the 'Yi' prefix. The original serial number was 10311 but was re-issued at a later date under 'Jie' prefix 1239. It is interesting to note that in Mr. Norman Lin's reference book on Chinese paper money, the 'Yi' prefix was first recorded in Year 5 rather than Year 4 and could indicate this is a new find. PMG Comments "Previously Mounted, rust, Annotation." A delightful and imposing large size note that has not been circulated, given the lack of brush pen annotations or handstamps, but was improperly kept, resulting in this current VF grade.
