(t) CHINA. United States of America - China. Hankow Chamber of Commerce Gold Name Badge and Welcome Silver Pin (2 Pieces), ND (ca. 1919-37). CHOICE EXTREMELY FINE. 1) Gold Name Badge. Dimensions: 54.50 x 32.29 mm; Weight: 13.66 gms. (inclusive of ribbon). Obverse: Crossed American and Qing Dynasty flags superimposed on horseshoe with legend "HANKOW CHAMBER OF COMMERCE", suspension above with name of recipient in contemporary hand engraved script "Mrs. Young"; Reverse: Hallmarks on suspension "辛", "同震", "慎", "足赤", and "有". With red ribbon, possibly replacement, and contemporary case, possibly original. 2) Silver Welcome Pin. Dimensions: 66.66 x 46.43 mm; Weight: 5.58 gms. (inclusive of flags). Obverse: Banner with hand engraved inscription "歡迎" (Welcome), superimposed on crossed American and Qing Dynasty cloth flags. A neat and interesting pair with the gold name badge retaining much of the light coloration on the crossed flags. The surfaces do exhibit light signs of handling as would be expected. The ribbon remains in remarkable condition indicative of a replacement with the case of issue that appears to be contemporary. While the silver welcome pin offers rich mottled gray patina and light signs of handling. The cloth flags are intact with light signs of age and are in a wonderful state of preservation. Overall a wholesome pair of items that tell an interesting story of early 20th Century International commerce in China that is certain to add depth to the next collection it enters. According to the American Chamber of Commerce in China's website, the chamber traces its roots back to 1919 and a meeting in the capital, then Peking. The founding members included Andersen, Meyer & Co., the International Banking Corporation, the American Trading Company, the China-American Trading Company, the American Bank Note Company, E. W. Frazer & Co., the Siems-Carey Company, and the Standard Oil Company. In May of 1920 the Chamber became a member of the US Chamber with dues for individuals being $10 Mexican silver and $50 Mexican silver for companies. Not much is known of the early years prior to disbanding at the start of the Second Sino-Japanese war in 1937 as during that time American businesses began retreating. Then on 11 November 1981, after a 44-year hiatus, it once again joined the US Chamber, becoming one of 36 members. Estimate: $1,000 - $2,000. 1919-37年美中交流紀念/漢口總商會金質姓名胸牌與歡迎銀質別針（共兩枚）。 1) 金質名牌。尺寸：54.50 x 32.29 毫米；重量：13.66 克（含彩帶）。正面：美國國旗與大清龍旗交叉疊於馬蹄形上，外周銘文"HANKOW CHAMBER OF COMMERCE"，懸掛部分手工鐫刻受贈者姓名"Mrs. Young"；背面：懸掛部分有印記"辛"、"同震"、"慎"、"足赤"及"有"。附紅色彩帶（或為後配）及當代絨盒（或為原裝）。 2) 銀質歡迎別針。尺寸：66.66 x 46.43 毫米；重量：5.58 克（含旗幟）。正面：橫幅上手工鐫刻"歡迎"二字，疊於交叉的美國與大清布旗之上。此對藏品饒富趣味。金質名牌交叉旗幟上的淡彩保存良好，表面可見輕微經手痕跡，在所難免。彩帶保存狀況極佳，疑為後配，原裝盒亦似為當時所製。銀質歡迎別針則覆有濃郁斑駁灰色包漿，輕微經手痕跡。布旗完整，略見歲月痕跡，保存狀態上佳。整體而言，此對藏品保存完好，承載著二十世紀初中國國際商貿的歷史故事，定能為下一位收藏者增添珍貴的人文深度。據美國中國商會網站記載，該商會溯源至1919年，於時都北京召開創會議，創始成員包括安德森邁耶公司、國際銀行公司、美國貿易公司、中美貿易公司、美國鈔票公司、E.
