All auctions / Furniture, Design & Mirrors / Table lamp - Ceramic - Martini Shadelamp 60cm
A stunning and unique marriage of European Mid-Century design: an original Italian 'Martini' advertising lamp base from the 1950s/1960s, stylishly paired with a generous, natural lampshade crafted from high-quality Portuguese cork. The impressive bottle-shaped base is made of heavy, robust grès earthenware (ceramic) in a distinctive Brutalist style. The piece is double-sided, featuring the iconic Martini logo in relief on both the front and back. The lower section is decorated with hand-carved geometric meander patterns (Greek key) beneath a beautiful speckled glaze. Fully Restored & Technically Up-to-Date: The lamp has recently undergone a complete technical upgrade, making it fully compliant with modern safety standards and ready for immediate use:Fitted with completely new wiring and a new, sturdy E27 socket (perfectly suited for energy-efficient LED bulbs). Equipped with a built-in ball joint/swivel below the socket, allowing the large lampshade to be adjusted easily to a perfect level. The black power cord exits through a neat recess at the bottom, ensuring the heavy lamp stands perfectly flat and stable. Dimensions: Total Height: 60 cm Lampshade Diameter: 46 cm Base Diameter: approx. 16.5 cm Condition: Ceramic (visible part): In excellent vintage condition. The glaze and logos are fully intact, with no visible cracks or restorations on the exterior. Cork Shade: In very good condition, offering a beautiful, warm ambient glow when lit. Underside/Base ring: The hidden bottom rim shows a few minor, historic flea bites/chips in the earthenware (see detail photos). These are typical signs of age, completely invisible when the lamp is placed on a surface, and do not affect stability. A rare and atmospheric collector's piece that fits beautifully into Hollywood Regency, eclectic, or Mid-Century Modern spaces! PLEASE NOTE: 2 boxes 80x 50 x 35 will be needed (1 lampshade / 1 lamp base) The lamp will be packed with the utmost care and shipped with insurance and tracking.
