Table - Wood

Geometric shapes: France was the birthplace of Art Deco in the 1920s. The tabletop's cut corners, creating an octagonal effect, and the stepped, prismatic wood overlays where the legs meet are typical of early French modernism and architecture. The function: In French bourgeois homes in the 1920s and 1930s, elevated flower stands (sellette or jardinière) and pedestals for statues were extremely fashionable, used to highlight the corners of the room or palm trees. The table was purchased from a French antique dealer, it is in perfect condition, probably oak. We can post it carefully packaged, in an insured, registered package.
