Taino Culture 10th to 15th Century AD Stone, Calcite Zemi Idol - 6 cm

Taíno Incised Figure in Mottled Beige Stone – 10th to 15th Century AD A small Taíno figure from the Dominican Republic, carved in mottled beige stone with pale veins and darker brown patches. The rounded upper section bears a stylised face with a triangular nose. An incised geometric band separates it from the wider lower section, which carries paired rectangular motifs. Two small perforations are visible on the reverse. The veining and colour are consistent with a calcareous stone as calcite, though this remains unverified. Surface wear softens several incised details. Material: Calcite. Dimensions: 6 cm height. Weight: 48.92 gr Provenance: Acquired in 2025 from a German collection formed in the 1980, then by descendant. We guarantee the authenticity of the pieces, backed by the combined experience of our experts spanning more than 40 years. A Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) will be sent digitally by email. This item has been legally acquired under European Law.
