Takeru Amano – Venus (Gold), 2021 – Limited edition 55/80 – Golden metallic screenprint Venus (Gold) is a limited edition work by Japanese artist Takeru Amano, created in 2021 in a edition of only 80 numbered pieces with a hand-signed certificate. The work belongs to the famous Venus series, one of the artist's most iconic and recognizable subjects, where Japanese pop aesthetics meet the classical tradition of female representation. Through essential lines, solid colors and stylized shapes, Amano develops a visually immediately recognizable language. Screenprint with golden metallic inks This particular Gold version is produced by screen printing with partial use of metallic inks, which give the background a reflective gold finish. Unlike a normal color print, the metallic surface interacts with light, creating reflections and variations in brightness depending on the viewing angle and ambient lighting. The gold effect enhances the contrast between the bright background, the black hair and the minimal lines of the subject, giving the work a distinctive visual presence.
