Talisman Vegvísir – Destinies' Compass – Obsidian –...

Talisman Necklace Vegvísir – Compass of Destinies – Obsidian – Guidance and Protection. This obsidian necklace bears the Vegvísir, the sacred Icelandic legend’s compass said to guide a traveler’s steps so they never lose their way, even in the face of the unknown. In the heart of Iceland’s wild expanses, when fog settles over volcanic lands and erases the tracks, the walker is left alone with the immensity. In that silence where bearings disappear, an old belief guided travelers’ steps: drawing the Vegvísir to keep course and find one’s way again. This eight-armed runic symbol carries a simple and strong promise passed down through generations: the one who carries it will never go astray, even if the storm rises and the path remains unknown. It is the ally of the one who refuses to hesitate and moves straight ahead, guided by the strength of ancient tales. Keeping this compass close to oneself is to offer oneself a protective reference in daily life: the assurance of staying clear-minded and finding one’s own way amid the unforeseen. Dimensions: - necklace length: 57.3 cm. - weight: 19 g. - obsidian beads: 4 mm (approx). - Destinies Compass in elaborated sterling silver: 3.3 x 3 cm (excluding bail). - Spring clasp stamped 925 Silver. 925 Silver ring. History & Secrets of the Symbol: The Riddle of the Huld Manuscript: The Icelandic Grimoire Recorded in 1860 in Iceland from secrets scrolls far older, the Huld manuscript — whose name derives from the old Icelandic meaning “secret” or “hidden” — gathers the symbols of Galdrastafir magic. It is in this grimoire that the full Vegvísir was preserved, accompanied by the phrase guaranteeing the traveler will always find their way. The Eight Portals: The Eight Paths Radiating from a single center, the eight asymmetric branches represent the different paths that open in a lifetime. In the tradition, each branch serves as a guide to avoid bad choices and to advance with confidence. The Openwork Border: The Protection of the Stars The openwork circle surrounding the compass evokes the night sky and the stars that guided explorers over long distances. This motif recalls the importance of remaining calm to make the right decisions. Obsidian: The Protective Volcanic Stone Born from volcanic fire, obsidian is traditionally known to block negative energies and protect from external tensions. Its black color provides a solid presence that complements the compass symbol. The photos were taken under LED lighting with dedicated photographic equipment to accurately reproduce the details, reliefs, and nuances of the item. Some gemstones and precious stones may undergo traditional treatments to enhance their color or transparency. No specific gemological examination has been performed on this item.
