Technical instrument (7) Rococo - France - 1700-1750 - Necessary tools

Beautiful antique George II silver case from circa 1745, with the original period tools including, among others, an iron pair of scissors with a silver mount, a bone writing board, a steel knife with a silver mount, a silver riding needle, a silver pen holder, and steel tweezers with a file. The case is decorated with Rococo motifs and floral ornamentation; the top and bottom are probably later additions. The case closes and opens well and the hinge works perfectly. This splendid 18th-century silver case with its original tools is a sought-after item in an early silver collection.
