Tenere culture Flint Tool - 15 cm (No reserve price)

Beautiful polished axe made of gray-brown flint with ochre-red and black parts. This axe measures 15 x 6 x 3.5 cm. This elegant polished flint axe originates from the Ténéré region (Sahara, Niger), an area with a rich prehistoric heritage. This type of axe is associated with the early desert cultures that inhabited the region before the Tuareg period. What stands out is the fine craftsmanship, the careful polishing, and the harmonious form, typical for tools that were used both functionally and symbolically. An authentic and aesthetically pleasing piece from one of the most iconic desert regions in the world. Bought from a collector at the collectors’ fair in Utrecht in 2019. Since then in my own collection.
