Teotihuacan Terracotta Head with Ribbed Headdress 3rd to...

Teotihuacan Terracotta Head with Ribbed Headdress – 3rd to 7th Century AD A Teotihuacan terracotta head fragment distinguished by a broad, rounded headdress divided into vertical sections by deep grooves. Beneath its projecting lower edge, narrow slit-like eyes and a small central nose remain visible on a face that tapers towards the chin. The contrast between the large headdress and the compact facial features gives the fragment a particularly recognizable silhouette. Its buff and brown ceramic surface displays deposits, abrasions and losses that have softened the lower facial details. The head is presented on a later square wooden display mount. The piece is accompanied by a copy of the original typewritten document signed by Dr. Dieter Eisleb of the Staatliche Museen Preußischer Kulturbesitz, Berlin from the 20th of March, 1984. Material: Terracotta; later wooden display mount Dimensions: 8 x 8 cm total Weight: 76 g Provenance: Acquired in Germany from an auction house in 2026. We guarantee the authenticity of the pieces, backed by the combined experience of our experts spanning more than 40 years. A Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) will be sent digitally by email. This item has been legally acquired under European Law.
