Terrestrial globe Dietrich Reimer / E. Vohsen, A.G. / Berlin, 1928 A fine German terrestrial globe by Dietrich Reimer, Berlin, dated 1928. Published by the Kartographisches Institut of the publishing house D. Reimer (E. Vohsen) A.G., the globe bears the original inscription: “Dietrich Reimers – ERDGLOBUS – herausgegeben von dem Kartogr. Institut der Verlagshandlung von D. REIMER (E. VOHSEN) A.G. – Berlin – 1928”. The 34 cm globe is mounted on an elegant ebonized wooden stand, with a total height of approximately 63 cm, and features a finely graduated brass semi-meridian. The cartography is highly detailed, with finely printed and coloured geographical information characteristic of the German globe production of the period. The globe is in excellent original condition, with the cartographic surface exceptionally well preserved and retaining its original colours and fine detail. Its substantial size, refined cartography, excellent condition and elegant ebonized stand make this a particularly attractive example of Dietrich Reimer’s Berlin production of the late 1920s, suitable both for a specialised collection of historical globes and for display as an important decorative and historical object.
