The Adverts - Crossing The Red Sea With The Adverts (UK)...

A highly attractive UK pressing of The Adverts' Crossing The Red Sea With The Adverts, one of the defining albums of the original British punk movement. This is the 1981 UK 12-track edition, notable for adding the band's classic hit single "Gary Gilmore's Eyes," a track which had famously been omitted from the original 1978 LP. The song had originally appeared as a standalone single in 1977 and became one of The Adverts' best-known recordings. What makes this particular copy especially attractive is the surviving original hype sticker on the front cover, advertising "Includes Gary Gilmore's Eyes – Hit Single," a great period detail and one that immediately distinguishes this edition from the original 11-track configuration. The album also includes essential early punk tracks such as "One Chord Wonders," "Bored Teenagers," "No Time To Be 21," "Safety In Numbers," "New Church" and "Great British Mistake." Complete with its original printed inner sleeve. ⸻ Sleeve (VG+): The original sleeve remains clean and attractive overall with some corner wear and normal light signs of handling, but no major damage. Most importantly, the original "Gary Gilmore's Eyes" hype sticker remains present on the front and displays very nicely. → VG+ Inner Sleeve: Original printed inner sleeve included. Vinyl (EX): A strong copy with a very nice original shine and only light signs of previous play. Overall the record presents extremely well. → EX ⸻ Details * UK 1981 12-track edition * Includes "Gary Gilmore's Eyes" * Bright Records BRL 201 * Original hype sticker present * Original inner sleeve included * 33⅓ r.p.m.
