A highly desirable Japanese white label promotional pressing of The Beatles in Italy, released in 1982 by Odeon under catalogue number EAS-81525. This is a particularly attractive collector's copy, complete with its original obi and insert, and featuring Near Mint vinyl that appears virtually unplayed. What makes this edition especially interesting is its white label promotional status. Unlike the regular commercial pressing with standard Odeon labels, this special version features distinctive white promotional labels, manufactured for distribution within the Japanese music industry rather than ordinary retail sale. This white label variation is a much less common edition for serious Beatles collectors. The album itself carries a fascinating history. Originally released exclusively in Italy in July 1965 to coincide with The Beatles' Italian tour, The Beatles in Italy was often mistakenly believed to be a live recording. In reality, it is a wonderful compilation of studio recordings, including Long Tall Sally, She's a Woman, I Feel Fine and Yes It Is. Interestingly, even John Lennon once referred to the possibility of a live Beatles album from Italy in a 1970 interview. This 1982 Japanese stereo edition brings that unusual piece of Beatles discography to a particularly attractive format, the combination of promotional labels, complete original packaging and exceptionally well-preserved vinyl making this a lovely collector's example. ⸻ Sleeve (VG+): A very nice, clean sleeve in near-excellent condition.
