The cure of the blind man, Spanish School, late 18th century

Descriptio Oil on canvas. Dimensions: 169 x 126 cm (182 x 141 cm with frame). Religious scene in which an elderly man lays his hands on a kneeling youth, who receives the blessing. The lighting highlights the faces and hands, accentuating the pious nature of the action. In the background, a serene landscape with secondary figures and classical architecture, typical of late 18th-century Spanish Neoclassicism. The frame, with its gilded molding and vegetal ornamentation, underscores the devotional character of the work. The restrained execution, the vertical composition, and the warm color palette reinforce the spiritual serenity of the scene, fully integrating it into the Spanish religious painting tradition. Due to its age and history of use, this lot may show signs of wear and previous interventions. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, no specialized technical testing has been performed. The absence of any mention of restorations does not guarantee that none exist. You may request additional information before placing a bid. This does not affect the buyer’s statutory rights.
