The fire at San Antonio, Italian School, 17th Century

Descriptio Oil on panel. Dimensions 65 x 36 cm. A religious scene unfolds against a vast, rocky, and mountainous landscape, structured around a narrative episode accompanied by various figures arranged on different planes. The presence of a large bonfire and the carefully crafted spatial composition lend dynamism and depth to the scene. The atmospheric treatment of the landscape, combined with the delicate figures and the richness of detail, reflects the style of the 17th-century Italian school, where religious narrative is harmoniously integrated into a visually striking natural environment. Due to its age and history of use, this lot may show signs of wear and previous interventions. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, no specialized technical testing has been performed. The absence of any mention of restorations does not guarantee that none exist. You may request additional information before placing a bid. This does not affect the buyer’s statutory rights.
