(Military) Commander’s 1st type neck badge, silver-gilt and enamels; Distinguished Service Order, V.R., silver-gilt and enamels, with integral top riband bar; East and Central Africa 1897-99, 2 clasps, Uganda 1897-98, Uganda 1899 (Capt: E. H. Gorges. Uganda Rifles) officially impressed naming; Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 3 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Rhodesia (Major E. H. Gorges, Manch: Rgt.) officially engraved naming, unofficial rivets between top two clasps; Africa General Service 1902-56, 2 clasps, Uganda 1900, Nandi 1905-06 (Major E. H. Gorges, D.S.O. King’s Afr: Rif:) high relief bust, officially engraved naming; 1914-15 Star (Col. E. H. Gorges. D.S.O.); British War and Victory Medals, with M.I.D. oak leaves (Col. E. H. Gorges.); France, Third Republic, Legion of Honour, Officer’s breast badge, silver-gilt and enamels, the last eight mounted court-style as worn, enamel flake to one arm of C.B.E. and minor chips to wreaths of D.S.O., otherwise generally nearly extremely fine (10) £5,000-£7,000.
