The antique leather-bound Holy Family Bible - The Holy Bible - from the 19th century comprises the Old and New Testament with commentary by Rev. Matthew Henry and is published by John G. Murdoch, 41, Castle Street, Holborn/London. The Bible contains a family register. It has brass/copper ornamental fittings namely 2 clasps and 4 front corner pieces, 25 religious illustrations in black and white and 4 maps in color, 4 cords to protect the spine, gold on the cut. In the Bible there is a peacock feather (Eye of God) used as a bookmark. The Bible has been expertly restored by an skilled bookbinder who used as much as possible the original components of the Bible in the restoration. Dimensions: length 33 cm - width 27 cm - thickness 10 cm and a weight of 6.2 kg.
