Sefer Ma’aneh Lashon, with a newly added section containing inscriptions from the tombstones of eminent Torah scholars, of blessed memory, buried in Vilna. Vilna, 1865. Printed by Moshe Yoel, son of Simcha Zimel, typographer. As noted on the title page, this rare edition includes, at the end of the volume, the epitaphs of the Vilna Gaon and other distinguished rabbis of Vilna. The holy Rebbi Yehuda Horowitz (1905–1989), affectionately known as “Reb Yidele, ” was the son of Rabbi Alter Yechezkel Eliyahu, Rebbe of Dzikov. He was a grandson of the holy Rebbi Yisrael of Vizhnitz, in whose household he was raised, and studied under the renowned Gaon Rabbi Meir Arik. He married his cousin, the daughter of the holy Rebbi Chaim Meir of Vizhnitz. From 1936, he served as a Dayan in Klausenburg. Following the Holocaust, in which his father was killed, he firmly refused to assume the mantle of Rebbe of Dzikov. Nevertheless, many devoted themselves to his guidance, and he became renowned as an exceptionally righteous and ascetic figure. In his later years, he resided in London, where he was buried; his gravesite subsequently became a place of widespread pilgrimage. His Torah teachings and annotations to several seforim have been published in recent years. 24, 26–49, 52–58, [1], 55–67, [3] leaves. 15.8 cm. book
