Theresienthal - Max Gangkofner - Drinking set for 6 (6)...

Theresienthal – “Bernadotte” – 6 goblets / wine glasses – elaborate engine-turned engraving – amber-colored stems Offered is an exceptionally beautiful set of 6 goblets from the renowned glass manufactory Theresienthal in the classic series “Bernadotte.” What is particularly impressive is the elaborately executed engine-turned engraving on the clear cup. The finely worked decor features floral motifs with blossoms, leaves and curling tendrils. An additional ornamental border in the upper area completes the elegant appearance. Through the fine graduations of the engraving, there is a delightful interplay between clear, transparent glass and matte engraved surfaces. The detailed execution underscores the high-quality craftsmanship character of these glasses. A wonderful contrast to the richly engraved, colorless cup are the amber-colored, spirally twisted stems and feet. The characteristic applied nodules at the transition between cup and stem give the glasses their unmistakable appearance. The series “Bernadotte” belongs to the classic Theresienthal designs and was created in the 1970s under Max Gangkofner. The series was produced in various high-quality finishes, including the elaborate engine-turned engraving present here.
