Canvas size: 76 x 127 cm. Frame size: 103 x 154 cm. You would often expect a work of this size and complexity to be a commission or a statement by the artist, and the latter indeed proves to be the case, as Algernon Graves describes in 'The Royal Academy Of Arts' as his last exhibition at the RA in 1888, no. 211, 'Launch of the Lifeboat'. Note!! Because of the size and fragility of the frame, when sold only the painting will be professionally packed and shipped; the frame can be picked up free of charge.
