Thompson's Revolver Camera Replica - 1862 French...

Thompson's Revolver Camera A. Briois Paris 1862 Brass replica with wooden grip and stand at 1:1 scale With moving parts and shutter! The replica is in very good condition with only minor external signs of wear. Sold as a collector's piece without warranty! The Thompson's Revolver Camera was built in 1862 by A. Briois Paris after an invention by a Mr. Thompson about whom little is known. The original consisted of brass with a wooden grip and featured a Petzval-type lens. Four circular images could be exposed in rapid succession onto a rotating collodion plate. Even for its time, it was an unusual and rare camera, of which only a few specimens were produced. Today the revolver camera is one of the most coveted pieces in the history of photography and was only a few times auctioned in its original form.
