All auctions / Asian Art / Three Carved Bone Notions - Awl, Peg & Fish, Late 19th / Early 20th C.

American or European. Three small hand-carved bone implements, likely sewing or needlework notions. The longest is a slender awl or stiletto, its point drawn to a fine tip and its upper end flattened into a gently curved spatulate grip, perhaps for opening eyelets or creasing seams. Beside it sits a short, fragementary, peg possibly a bodkin, thread pin, or small piercing tool. The third piece is a flat fish silhouette with a forked tail, a ring-and-dot eye, and an incised mouth, perhaps a gaming counter, thread winder, or simple charm. All three share a smooth, creamy, hand-polished surface. A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany all winning bids. Item # 205865
