Tiki Ornaments " Ivi Po’o "

An exceptional pair of traditional ivi po'o bone ornaments from the Marquesas Islands (French Polynesia). Beautifully hand-carved, each cylindrical bead depicts the iconic, stylized Tiki figure featuring wide, almond-shaped eyes, a prominent flattened nose, and a wide mouth, capturing the powerful spirit and protective presence of the deified ancestors. Historically worn as hair or ear decorations, or used as toggles on ceremonial fan handles (tahi'i), these pieces exhibit a rich, warm honey-colored patina and intricate tribal details on the torso. A magnificent addition for collectors of fine Oceanic and tribal art. Mid to 3th quarter 20th century. • Origin: Marquesas Islands, French Polynesia • Material: Carved bone • Condition: Excellent condition with deep, authentic age patina Careful registered sending, combined shipping possible.
