Tile (4) - Vallauris - Roger Capron - 1970-1980 - 35.5x7.5x1cm

A lot of elongated ceramic tiles by **Roger Capron**, produced in Vallauris, France, dating to the 1970s. **Roger Capron** is regarded as one of the most significant French ceramic artists of the 20th century and profoundly shaped ceramic production in Vallauris. His works are known for their combination of traditional handmade pottery, graphic design, and nature-inspired motifs. The tiles show stylized botanical representations of plants and leaves, executed in dark brown and earth tones on a warm, ochre-colored ground. The fine lines of the plant motifs resemble botanical studies and give the tiles a calm, graphic effect. Characteristic are the vibrant glazes with fine speckling and the slightly textured surface, as is typical for Capron’s ceramics and Vallauris-produced pieces. The restrained, nature-inspired design corresponds to the idiom of French ceramic art from the 1960s and 1970s. The tiles are offered as a lot and can be arranged flexibly, for example as decorative wall installations or as part of a ceramic composition. The arrangement shown in the photographs is for presentation purposes only. As a cohesive ensemble, the tiles convey an authentic mid-century aesthetic and represent a beautiful example of **Roger Capron**’s ceramic work from Vallauris. The tiles have no cracks. There are minor chips. The goods are wrapped in bubble wrap and enclosed in biodegradable Styrofoam within a double-walled carton and shipped by DHL.
