Delftware tile (Netherlands) with a boat under a pine in a circular medallion - 18th century Magnificent antique Dutch Delftware tile, painted in cobalt blue under glaze. The central design depicts a circular medallion framing a lively riverside landscape with an elegant sailboat navigating near a gnarled pine with intricately detailed branches, and a flock of birds in the sky. The corners (spandrels) are adorned with the traditional stylized four-petal floral motifs with dots (daisies). The back presents the rough clay surface characteristic of authentic old productions. Origin: Netherlands (Delft or regional workshop) Period: 18th century Material: Tin-glazed faience painted in cobalt blue Decor: Marine scene, sailboat and stylized tree within a circular medallion Technical specifications Dimensions: 12.6 x 12.7 cm Thickness: 0.8 cm Condition Overall condition: Good overall condition considering its age.
