Some pieces of jewellery deliberately elude any clear chronological classification. Only on closer inspection do subtle nuances reveal their true age. The bracelet presented here is one of these rare treasures. The bracelet is made from 14-karat red gold. Its links in a classic round curb pattern wrap smoothly around the wrist, giving the piece of jewellery an elegant and high-quality appearance. A sturdy snap clasp, complemented by two safety catches, ensures comfort and security and blends harmoniously into the overall look. The bracelet owes its special character above all to its time of origin. Made around 1900, the gold has the warm, slightly reddish hue that is typical of turn-of-the-century alloys. This soft hue gives the piece of jewellery a remarkable depth and clearly distinguishes it from later, often much brighter or more garish-looking gold alloys. The bracelet most likely originates from the collection of the Greifswald goldsmith and jeweler H. Radicke and presents itself today in an exceptionally beautiful and well-preserved condition.
