The watch features a warm champagne sunburst dial with substantial applied hour markers, silver-tone luminous-style hands and a contrasting orange-red central seconds hand. A framed date window at 3 o’clock adds everyday functionality, while the characteristic tonneau-shaped case and integrated-style bracelet give the watch a strong and unmistakably 1970s appearance. Story & Heritage Founded in Le Locle in 1853, Tissot has played an important role in Swiss watchmaking, combining traditional mechanical expertise with practical and innovative designs. The PR 516 family is one of the most recognizable chapters in Tissot’s vintage history. Introduced during the 1960s and developed further through the following decade, the collection became associated with dynamic styling and the growing influence of motorsport-inspired design. By the 1970s, watches such as the PR 516 GL reflected the changing aesthetic of the period: larger tonneau-shaped cases, integrated-looking bracelets, strong applied indexes and warm metallic dial finishes. The result was a watch that felt distinctly modern at the time while retaining a traditional Swiss automatic movement. This example captures that era particularly well. Its champagne dial, gold-tone case and bracelet, bold markers and vivid seconds hand create a characteristic 1970s presence that distinguishes it immediately from more conventional vintage watches. A charismatic vintage Tissot for collectors of Swiss automatic watches and unmistakable 1970s design. Internal Reference Number - FLO-176
