Descriptio Gilded bronze sculpture. Dimensions: 45 × 18 × 23 cm. This functional and ornamental sculpture represents a vertical candelabra, conceived through a composition of stylized anthropomorphic figures and geometric elements of abstract inspiration. The piece features a structure of sinuous lines and irregular profiles, with small figures with elongated limbs and circular heads that appear to support and articulate the whole, culminating in a top support designed to hold a candle. The gilded surface of the bronze accentuates the interplay of light and shadow, highlighting the handcrafted and expressive character of the casting. The work reflects the characteristic artistic language of Tommaso Cascella, an Italian artist belonging to a renowned dynasty of creators, whose work combines references to abstraction, symbolism, and organic forms. Its sculptural conception shows affinities with the formal universe of Alberto Giacometti (1901-1966), especially in the stylization of the figures and the expressiveness of the elongated structures, as well as with certain works by Joan Miró (1893-1983), due to the use of biomorphic forms and playful elements. The work is unsigned and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from the artist on the back of a photograph. It is in good condition, according to the documentation provided. Provenance: Galleria Il Patio, Ravenna; private collection, Padua. Lot in international warehouse (within the EU). Intra-EU shipping: no import duties apply within the EU. An export permit from the country of origin may be required.
