All auctions / Arts & Graphics / Tony Fernandez – Donald Duck Inspired by Henri Matisse...
• Hand-Signed by the Artist • Includes Certificate of Authenticity • Ready to Frame This vibrant original painting by Disney artist Tony Fernandez pays tribute to Henri Matisse’s celebrated Landscape near Collioure, one of the defining masterpieces of the Fauvist movement. Reimagined through the joyful presence of Donald Duck, the composition blends the expressive freedom of Matisse’s bold colour palette with the timeless charm of Disney’s most spirited character. Strolling along a sunlit path surrounded by luminous blues, emerald greens, and brilliant yellows, Donald seems to have wandered directly into one of Matisse’s landscapes. The loose brushwork, vivid colour harmonies, and simplified forms faithfully capture the atmosphere of the original painting while introducing a playful narrative that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly contemporary. ▸ Acrylic on art paper – Format: 24 × 21 cm ▸ Unique Original Artwork Tony Fernandez is one of Disney’s most respected veteran artists, with more than 35 years of experience creating beloved characters for the studio. His acclaimed Inspired By Collection pays homage to the greatest names in art history by seamlessly blending Disney icons with masterpieces from world-renowned painters. With over 600 original pieces, the series has become highly appreciated by collectors around the globe.
