At the heart of a composition evoking an ancient religious edifice with classical columns, Jesus appears from behind, surrounded by four worshippers. In front of them, his first name stands out in monumental pink letters, reminiscent of graffiti sprayed on an architectural facade. This unexpected meeting between sacred tradition and urban culture transforms this place steeped in history into a space for contemporary expression, where spirituality dialogues with the codes of street art. · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · Artwork details Title: Urban Jesus (Jésus urbain) Year of creation: 2026 Technique: Round-point imprint, blue Bic ballpoint pen and acrylic paint on cotton rag paper Dimensions: 29.7 × 42 cm Orientation: Portrait Original unique work: 1/1, entirely handmade Signature: Signed on the front side Authentication: Atelier Toons Renaissance seal on the reverse Certificate of authenticity: Provided Beaux-Arts conservation sleeve: Included Framing: Not included · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · Technique Each drawing starts with an almost imperceptible imprint, made with a round nib. This first reference helps me prepare the composition while preserving the whiteness of the paper. Next comes the blue Bic ballpoint pen. The curved, spontaneous, and interwoven lines accumulate and overlay to progressively give birth to shapes, volumes and contrasts. The density of the strokes builds the shadows and reveals the drawing’s depth, while the white spaces preserve light and balance in the composition. In this work, pink acrylic paint introduces a deliberate chromatic rupture, drawing the eye to the central lettering. This contrast between the pen’s blue and the intensity of the color strengthens the dialogue between tradition and modernity. The line reprises may reveal small ink dots, witnesses of the manual gesture and an integral part of the artwork. It is in this meeting between precision and spontaneity that my work expresses itself: a controlled construction, carried by the freedom of the stroke. · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · Authenticity Each Toons Renaissance drawing is an original unique work, entirely handmade and existing in a single edition (1/1). It is neither a print nor a reproduction. The work is signed, authenticated by the atelier seal and accompanied by its certificate of authenticity. · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · Presentation and shipping Each original drawing is delivered in a Beaux-Arts rigid preservation sleeve, designed to protect and transport the work securely (ideal for a move to a framer, in-person handover, gift, or careful storage). The sleeve is gently wrapped in kraft paper, sealed with the artist’s logo, and accompanied by its certificate of authenticity. Together, the package benefits from reinforced protective packaging, designed to preserve the artwork’s integrity and ensure safe transport. · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · Have a question about the work?
