TRACY CANO GARCÍA - LA CONTEMPLACIÓN DEL GATO / XL

Unique Work Series: DOMESTIC SCENES Title: THE CAT CONTEMPLATION / XL Technique: acrylic / canvas Finished with varnish Year: 2026 / October THE CAT CONTEMPLATION explores the intimacy of the home through a composition that combines everyday elements, geometric shapes, and color planes. Vases, plants, furniture, and a cat are distributed in a fragmented space, where architectural lines and organic forms build a scene that is recognizable and, at the same time, imagined. The layering of colors, textures, and volumes transforms domestic objects into elements of a contemporary composition. The cat, placed in front of an opening that suggests an interior landscape, introduces a contemplative dimension to the scene. Its stillness contrasts with the dynamism of the shapes and colors, making it the silent center of the composition. The work invites a look at those moments of pause in which the everyday acquires a new presence, and the home becomes a space of observation, calm, and visual balance. The series DOMESTIC SCENES explores the intimacy of everyday spaces through compositions that combine recognizable home elements with geometric forms, color planes, and different pictorial textures. Objects and domestic corners appear simplified and rearranged within contemporary compositions, where tables, lamps, vases, furniture, and other everyday elements acquire a new visual dimension. The domestic scene ceases to be a literal representation to become a space constructed through color, form, and balance. The series is especially interested in those moments of pause that take place inside the home. Light, objects, and the different surfaces create silent atmospheres in which the everyday takes on an intimate and contemplative character. Geometric language coexists with small organic gestures and figurative details, generating a balance between structure and spontaneity. Overlaid planes, curved forms, and lines construct spaces that seem recognizable and, at the same time, partly imagined. DOMESTIC SCENES thus offers a view of the home as a space of calm, memory, and contemplation, where everyday objects transform into compositional elements and daily life becomes pictorial matter.
