Miniature silver tray made in Amsterdam in 1777 by Jan Bonket (1723-1789) featuring a tray of oval shape with a serpentine border and in the center enhanced by a burin engraving depicting a large radiating flower, finely detailed, The edge bears symmetric engravings of foliage and shells at the scrolls. Stamped on the back with the master’s mark Jan Bonket (I.B) and the city of Amsterdam with the letter S for the year 1777 Dimensions: length 3.5 cm, width 2.8 cm Weight 5 g *The lot shows strong stylistic analogies (with slightly smaller dimensions) to Lot 8 from the 'Silver' auction, 'Russian Art and Vertu Objects' live auction 2576 of March 4, 2003 in Amsterdam at Christie’s (realizing €4,182).
