Postage stamp of the Ottoman Empire (Turkey), first issue from 1863 with the Tughra (sultan's seal) of Sultan Abdulmecid I over the crescent. Lot contents (3 values): * 1x color variant blue/turquoise (face value presumably 2 kuruş) * 2x color variant pink/peach (face value presumably 5 kuruş, one piece cut slightly shorter at the bottom) Details & condition: * Catalog numbers: Michel No. 1–4 (depending on paper type and exact variety) / Isfila No. 1–4. * Perforation: imperforate / cut (as issued). The stamps show the typical, at that time common cutting edges (one value cut slightly shorter at the bottom, see photo). * Condition: Unused. The fronts show a clear print and for an age of over 160 years a very nice color retention. * Back side Unused without gum (o.G.), as is very common with this issue due to storage.
