Two Science Fiction Laserdiscs Including Criterion Collection Close

A pair of vintage science fiction films presented on the laserdisc format. The first is a Deluxe Letter-Box Edition of 2010: The Year We Make Contact, a Peter Hyams film produced by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. The front cover displays the MGM/UA Home Video logo and the branding for Laser Videodisc. It is formatted for Extended Play (CLV) and features Stereo Digital Sound. The reverse side bears a printed credit block for the cast and crew, including Roy Scheider and John Lithgow, and indicates a 1984 copyright for MGM/UA Home Entertainment Group. The second item is a Criterion Collection edition of Close Encounters of the Third Kind, a Steven Spielberg film published by The Voyager Company. The front cover is marked The Criterion Collection along the left edge and carries the Pioneer Artists/Voyager logo at the lower right. This set is a 3-disc Full Feature Format in CAV (Constant Angular Velocity) Videoscope. The reverse features extensive chapter listings, special features descriptions, and production credits.
