Typography.- Mosley (James) Ornamented Types. Twenty-Three Alphabets

Typography.- Mosley (James) Ornamented Types. Twenty-Three Alphabets from the Foundry of Louis John Pouchée, 2 vol., one of 200 copies, 46 sheets of wood-engraved type specimens printed from the original blocks and loose as issued with prospectus in original cloth drop-back box (upper cover paper label slightly rubbed), accompanying text with illustrations in original cloth, uncut, slip-case, large folio, I.M. Imprimit & St. Bride Printing Library, 1992-93. *** Pouchée's type foundry at Lincoln's Inn Fields ran from only 1818-1830 when he was forced out of business by his competitors. During that time he produced some of the most richly ornamented letters ever created. Only 23 alphabets survive and are now held by St. Bride's, where they were identified and catalogued by James Mosley in 1966. This work is a faithful reproduction of these beautiful alphabets.
